WORSHIP //

WorshipWe hope you will join us for a Sunday Service to experience for yourself what Mountain View Church is about. We would like to greet you personally and answer any questions you may have. We realize that coming to a new church can be a bit overwhelming, so we would like to invite you to relax. There is no dress code. Come as you are. Know
that you are among people who serve a God of Grace and Love and who want to help you experience that.

Our worship is a blended worship combining some of the great hymns of the faith with many of the well written contemporary choruses. It is a mixture of celebrational and reflective praise. We believe everyone should have the privilege of worshiping in their own 'worship' vernacular. Therefore, we seek to make our worship meaningful to people of all ages.

Our emphasis is upon the expositional teaching of God's word. Most of our message series are done in a verse by verse fashion teaching the historical meaning of the passage while making it applicable and relevant to our everyday lives.

Additionally, you will find excellent and exciting kids' programming during our worship time. All children are dismissed to KidZone and Primary Children's Church following a meaningful time of worship with their parents in the 'Big Church.'

Worship Leader: Ross McAfee – Ross’ part-time worship leading ministry began at Mountain View on August 1, 2010 even though he and his wife, Jane, have been visiting the church since the early 90’s as missionaries supported by Mountain View. Ross has over 30 years of worship leading experience in a variety of settings; church worship services, youth groups, missions conferences and on board an international mission ship. Ross earned a B.A. in music education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and an M.S. in music education from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. For 11 years Ross taught vocal music in the junior and senior high school in Pine City, Minnesota before joining Operation Mobilization. For almost 5 years Ross and his family served on board OM’s ship, the M.V. Doulos, where Ross was the music coordinator.

His job included directing a singing group, leading worship and music seminars and organizing musicians for a variety of meetings. Currently, Ross serves as the Director of Ministry Projects at OM’s US office in Tyrone, GA. Ross & Jane have been married for 35 years and are the parents of two grown children. Their daughter, Jill, is on staff with OM as an international, traveling worship leader based in northern Italy. Their son, Travis, works for a small, local business doing graphic design and marketing. He and his wife, Liz, are the parents of Amaris (2006), Ryland (2008) and twins, Cadence & Lyric (2011). Ross & Jane love being grandparents and are glad their grandchildren live within walking distance of the OM USA office. Ross’ desire in leading worship at Mountain View is to create an atmosphere where people want to fully engage in whole hearted worship of our Lord.
